Salary:  £36,552 to £46,374 pa. inc hca

The Delivery Manager is responsible to the Service Manager for the overall performance of clinical service/s he/she manages. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of services to patients in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.

Main Duties are:

  • Be responsible for managing and resolving day-to-day management issues within the Service.
  • Ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to monitor and track performance within the Service against the Performance Contract. Take appropriate action to support the service to meet their performance targets
  • Collate, analyse and act on data to ensure balanced demand and capacity modelling, proactively managing adverse situations.
  • Ensure proactive management of patient pathway issues to ensure all national targets are met, for example,18 weeks, 26 weeks, 13 week revasc, 31 and 62 day cancer targets and coordinate and manage processes through teams to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for the development, compliance, accuracy and maintenance of both local service data systems and the service’s performance with the Trust wide information system such asCRSand EPR
  • Ensure the accuracy of the PTL report and management of the patient caseload by use of this report in conjunction with the CRS waiting list.
  • Act as a facilitator in order to manage relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and across organizational boundaries.
  • Interpret and implement new government and departmental policy, such as patient choice and waiting list initiatives, in conjunction with the relevant members of the Management Team.
  • Develop and maintain effective and appropriate communication networks with other relevant professionals as required
  • Contribute to and support Patient and Public Involvement with a rolling program of audit, review groups, focus groups, storytelling and surveys or any other PPI initiatives.
  • Work in conjunction with the relevant Management Team members in supporting service changes based upon findings of audit, review groups, focus groups, storytelling and surveys, as well as own findings (for example from own clinical practice). These policy proposals may be applicable across disciplinary and organizational boundaries
  • Deputise for the Service Manager as requested or for annual leave cover.
  • Develop team morale and motivation through effective personal leadership, ensuring views and decisions are communicated both up and down the management structure.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Management Degree or equivalent
  • Experience of the NHS
  • 4 years experience at management
  • Experience of change management
  • Motivates and acts as a resource for others.
  • Awareness of the importance of demonstrating and measuring success
  • Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, excel.
  • Precise and methodical in working practices
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Understands the concepts of LEAN
  • Understanding of Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical solutions to address them.
